Great small town. Perfect for advanced skiers. My friends and I stayed at the Best Western Plus. Nice hotel with a good restaurant. The best Ski rentals is Black Ties. They even bring your skies to your hotel for free. It is a big mountain, but what is the use if its half closed due to a storm. Definitely going elsewhere. Only pros: I love skiing here in the winter and cycling and hiking in the summer!

There's nothing like being in the Sierras to reboot and take in some nature and fresh air. Burger's restaurant was great - good food, great service and decent prices. Check out the Happy Hour at Roberto's cafe. Can't beat it! The service and gear we rented at Kitteridge Sports was well above our expectations. Good job! If you don't want to get on the slopes, you can still ride the Gondola from the Village up to Canyon Lodge - free. Good way to see the slopes and surrounding houses. I really enjoy Mammoth, but especially during shoulder seasons or midweek. During the peak season, weekends can be a little more frenetic and crowded than enjoyable.

If you're staying near the village or off Old Mammoth, there are many dining and playing options within walking distance. This hotel was beyond disgusting!! There was hair in the bathtub and sink, blood on the wall, the tv was for decoration When we first got there, there was a bag of trash on the balcony. We had no choice to stay because every where else was booked. I will make sure to never return. Very disappointed. Perfect location for restaurants and bars and Mammoth mountain. Can highly recommend the Clocktower bar in the cellar of the hotel. A great selection of craft beers and spirits and excellent bar food.

This town is a magnet for outdoor sport enthusiasts, but those who prefer a more sedate itinerary won't be left out. While shopping and eating opportunities abound here, a dip in any of the area's natural hot springs offers a tamer way of experiencing the natural beauty of Mammoth Lakes. In addition to an array of lodging and hotel options, this street is lined with a selection of eateries and retail outlets. These areas also offer a wide choice of accommodation, eating and shopping opportunities. But for all of its modern amenities, Mammoth Lakes is today visually dominated by its incredibly active geology.

Indeed, the town now sits in the natural bowl of the Long Valley Caldera, an area formed by ancient volcanic eruptions. For example, discerning shoppers will find plenty of boutiques dotted along the Minaret Road and Main Street areas. The nearby Benton, Travertine and Keough hot springs offer visitors the chance to soak away the stress after a long day on the slopes or in the shops. For those looking for a place to stay, a lack of accommodation is certainly not a problem in this California resort town.

Despite its relatively small size, the area is absolutely awash with beds.
